The Boulder Guitar Society

The purpose of the Boulder Guitar Society is to foster and promote the teaching, learning, enjoyment and performance experience of guitar music with an emphasis on classical and fingerstyle guitar. The society holds monthly meetings on the last Monday of each month, held at the First United Methodist Church in Boulder. Meetings, which are open to everyone, feature lectures/presentations by area artists, mini recitals and an open forum for members to perform.

BGS members include amateur guitarists, guitar students, guitar teachers, professional guitarists, guitar builders, university music graduates and undergraduates, and guitar enthusiasts of all shapes, sizes, and ability levels.

In Memory Of Steve Blunk

It is with heavy heart that we give you the news that Steve Blunk passed away last Thursday, December 17th. Steve was a leader in the Boulder Guitar Society, serving on the board of directors for many years. Also, he helped with our transition to become a tax-exempt organization. Steve majored in music in college, studying piano, guitar, voice, and composition. He was a quiet man with a gentle soul, and will be missed dearly by all who knew him. Rest in Peace, my friend...
